Numbers 21:9

“So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.”

“Rob, I know that God is my healer. But why is this sickness and pain still in my body?”

If you have been looking at your sickness and pain all this while, stop looking at yourself and start looking at Jesus. Did He or did He not take upon Himself your sickness and pain?

God’s Word declares, “Surely our sicknesses he hath borne, and our pains — he hath carried them…” (Isaiah 53:4, YLT)  Since Jesus has already taken your sickness and pain at the cross, then He cannot “untake” them. Even if you find it hard to believe that Jesus has paid for your healing, especially when the pain is unbearable, the truth is that it is still paid for. It is a finished work!

God is not saying that your sickness does not exist, nor is He asking you to pretend that it is not there. He is asking you to look away from the sickness, painful as it may be, and look to the truth that it has already been judged at the cross in the body of His Son.  The Word of God tells us to “set your minds” and “to think on these things”.  You have the ability to determine what you will focus your thinking upon – either your ailment or what God’s word says about your ailment.  You have the ability to determine what words come out of your mouth.  He says “life and death are in the power of the tongue”.  You can choose to speak words that agree with what God says that bring healing and life, or you can speak words that agree with what is happening in your body through the symptoms you are experiencing and reinforce them.

Once, while still in the wilderness, the children of Israel were bitten by deadly desert serpents. The serpents were real. The bites were painful and deadly. So God told Moses to point the people to the bronze serpent put on a pole — a picture of the cross. (John 3:14) Bronze signifies judgment. In other words, the serpent — their problem — was already judged at the cross.

Those who kept their eyes on the bronze serpent lived. Those who focused on their wounds died. So stop looking at your sickness. Instead, look to the cross and see your sickness already judged in the body of Jesus. Surely He has borne your sicknesses and carried your pains! That is the truth of God’s Word. And His Word supersedes natural facts.

My friend, you let natural facts rule or establish God’s truths over your problem by what you choose to focus on. So decide today not to focus on the facts concerning your problem. Instead, establish the truth of God’s Word and Christ’s finished work over your problem — and live!

There was man who had seven sons who were always quarreling among themselves.  One day he called them all together and informed them that he wished to demonstrate just what a lack of cooperative effort meant.  He had prepared a bundle of seven sticks which he had carefully tied together. One by one he asked his sons to take the bundle and break it.  Each son tried, but in vain. Then the father cut the strings and handed one of the sticks to each of his sons and asked him to break it over his knee.  After the sticks had all been broken, with ease, he said:  “When you boys work together in a spirit of harmony you resemble the bundle of sticks, and no one can defeat you; but when you quarrel among yourselves anyone can defeat you one at a time.”

In this story we see a lesson for the Church with its multiple denominations and divisions.  Together with one mind and one accord we are a mighty force for righteousness and can easily penetrate the kingdom of darkness to reconcile to God those blinded by Satan and drive back the corruption that is destroying our country.

Can you imagine what would happen in every locality if the church congregations in that locality worked together to fulfill the will of God by communicating and demonstrating the kingdom of God.  Our point of agreement and cooperation should be ”  Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”  We should rephrase that to say: “JESUS, THY KINGDOM COME; THY WILL BE DONE IN MY COMMUNITY JUST AS IT IS IN HEAVEN”.

Jesus’ final command to His fledgling Church was “Go into all your community and make disciples”.  He never told us to go have nice meetings, sing some nice songs, and listen to a nice speech.

Are we really willing to obey Jesus, or do we simply want to be religious?

Give me your thoughts on this.

Why Are We Thankful Today?

Life, as God designed it for you, is too valuable for you to waste on the ho-hum boring routine life most of us live.  God created you for success, for health, for joy, and for fulfillment in discovering your destiny in this life and the next.

You were fashioned after God’s likeness and image.  You are a person who has incredible potential.  You are a person that has faith built right into them.  It is simply a matter of learning how to use that faith to achieve God’s purpose for your life.

To surrender that hope is to live far below your potential, to deteriorate, to waste your God-given life.  You were made for success, not failure, or despair, or poverty, or sickness !

Believe me when I say that God is your greatest supporter in life.  He is cheering you on to become all that you can be in covenant with Him.

He created you to live in union with you through the new covenant and to be “in you” by His Holy Spirit. The purpose of God’s plan for your life is to transform you into being “as He is” so that you can reign in life through righteousness.

Living in God’s family as a new creation in Christ is about covenant, union, family, fellowship, love, restoration, and abundant life.  God has called me to teach His people who they are in His covenant kingdom and to reveal the heart of the Father to you and reveal your destiny in this life and for eternity.

John 3:16-21“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes on Him should not perish, but have eternal life.  For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.  He who believes in Him is not judged; he who has not believed is judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their deeds were evil.  For everyone who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.  But he who practises the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 — “And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

There are two ultimate all-powerful kingdoms at work on this earth —  the kingdom of God ruled by King Jesus and the kingdom of darkness ruled by Satan.  These kingdoms are in conflict over the minds of the human race.  We were all born into the darkness and remain there until we are challenged with the gospel of Jesus Christ at which time we can repent from serving Satan and bow our knee to King Jesus.  When we do that our eyes become open open to see the kingdom of God and we are made supernaturally into a new creation in Christ.  (  See my book “The Covenant Kingdom ).

Those who never hear the gospel and never come to know Jesus are still in the darkness and their minds are are blinded by Satan in order to keep them as his slaves.  These people are the ones doing the evil deeds as they are prompted by the god of all evil.  The sad thing is that these people will perish and spend eternity in hell unless somehow they are confronted with the gospel of Christ and a manifestion of His power which has been delegated to His Church.  They need to see the light, not the darkness of the mob mentality.  Prayer and the power of our words in agreement with God’s words can change the situation.

Think about it.

The Word For Today

“Angels harken to the voice of His word”– when you speak God’s word in agreement with Him you release His angels to bring that word to pass.

Are speaking about your problems, or the solution by agreeing with God’s words?

Luke 15:31

31… ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.’

After running a few errands for his parents, a little boy went to his father and said, “I know why you and mom had me.” “Why?” asked his father. “So that you guys would have someone to run errands for you!” exclaimed the boy.

Like the little boy, do you see God as a Father who demands obedience and service from you? Have you ever felt that unless you obey Him and keep all His commandments, you don’t have a right to be blessed by Him?

Jesus shared the story of the prodigal son to show how some of us call God “Father” and yet don’t know His heart. There are two sons in this parable. We know what happened to the prodigal son, but we can also learn something about the older son. This is what he said to his father when he discovered that his father had thrown a party to celebrate the return of his irresponsible, spendthrift brother: “Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends.” (Luke 15:29)

Now, this son believed that his father had brought him into the world to serve him. He saw his father as someone issuing commandments to him all the time. And he saw himself as someone who had to obey those commandments to enjoy his inheritance. But the truth is that the father had already given him his inheritance. (Luke 15:12) The father even reminded him lovingly: “Son… all that I have is yours.” And I am sure that that inheritance included more than one goat!

Have you, like the older son, failed to understand your Father’s heart? Your heavenly Father already gave you a rich inheritance in Christ when you became His son. He wants you to know that you have received the Spirit of sonship. (Romans 8:15) So call out to Him, “Abba, Father!” and know how much He loves you. Because you are His heir, all that He has is yours to enjoy today!

America – We Are in a Battle

The Covenant Life Blog - A Blog About Living With Jesus Today

It appears to me that the people who call themselves Christians in America have been blinded to what is happening in this country and are spending too much time listening to the news media program their minds.  We are being deceived by an invisible spiritual enemy that has a mission to “kill, steal,  and destroy”.

John 10:10 – Jesus said, “The thief (Satan ) comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy;…”

Open your eyes those of us who call ourselves Christians and see what is happening in our great land.  I am convinced that the Church today demonstrates a great apathy concerning our ability to carry on the work of Jesus in the earth.  We seem to be more focused on building larger ministries and larger congregations than actually doing the works that Jesus did and advancing His kingdom.  We are more concerned about having a “good” meeting than…

The greatest gift of grace given the Christian upon being born again is the Holy Spirit who was given to us to live within us as the Divine Enabler.  He no longer has to come “upon us” like under the Old Covenant. He now empowers us from within to live our life as a blood-covenant partner and co-laborer with Jesus to do the same works that Jesus did while He was on the earth.  This is the New Covenant. After all, He is the Head of the Body and we are His Body on this earth and have been co-missioned to do the same works He did and even greater works.  Scripture tells us in 1 JOHN 4:17 – As He is, so are we in this world”.

If My People

2 Chronicles 7:14

“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
Around the world nations are falling apart and allowing the darkness to overcome them. The Church that Jesus is building is supposed to be the LIGHT OF THE WORLD, but it appears that it is abandoning its mission to be that light.  Every nation that has Christian followers of Jesus has the power available to turn back the tide of this darkness and drive it back along with all the terrorism, unrighteous governments and rulers, poverty, etc.  We BELIEVERS have that power if we will simply BELIEVE WHAT GOD HAS SAID.  The greatest problem I see is that the people of God don’t really  BELIEVE.  Look at the scripture above:
“IF My people” —  are YOU one of His people and called by His name Christian?
“Will humble themselves” –  bow their knee to the Almighty God and confess your sins.
“And pray” —  don’t beg God to do something – speak His Word and use the righteous SWORD OF THE SPIRIT as a weapon against the principalities and spiritual powers that are causing the problems.
“Seek My face” – stand before Him clothed in the righteousness He has given you as His children and ask Him as His belovd child to intervene in these affairs of men.
“Turn from your wicked ways” —  repent, turn away, from you involvement in the kingdom of darkness and its ways instead of seeking first the kingdom of God in your life.
“I will hear from heaven”
“I will forgive you sin” —  we have turn our back on Him – we need to restore out face time with Him.
“I WILL HEAL THEIR LAND” — that, friends, is the lands where you live.
The real questions that reamin are:
1.  Do we believe what God says?
2.  Are we really willing to do what His Word says, or will we just ignore it to our own doom?
Tell me what you think about what I’ve said.
