I Will Give You REST

Do YOU have REST in your life?

Matthew 11:28 —  “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you REST.  Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”

Hebrews 3:19 —  And so we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief.  Therefore, let us fear lest, while a promise remains of ENTERING HIS REST, any one of you should come short of it.  For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was united by faith in those who heard.  For WE WHO HAVE BELIEVED ENTER THAT REST, …”

Hebrews 4:11 —  “Let us therefore BE DILIGENT TO ENTER THAT REST, …”

What the people of this world are seeking more than any other thing is the very thing that God wants to give us more than anything else —  REST.

This world is filled with fears, anxieties, depression, sickness, disease, poverty and lack.  People spend the vast majority of their lives seeking solutions to these issues of life.

Here is a picture of a life of REST:  Psalm 23 – The Lord Jesus is Our Shepherd.

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside quiet waters.

He restores my soul;

He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil;

For Thou art with me;

Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.

Thou dost prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;

Thou hast anointed my head with oil;

My cup overflows.

Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

This passage of Scripture gives us a picture of our relationship to the Lord and our walk with Him.  He does all of the work.  We simply REST in what He is doing.

He takes responsibility for our provision, our protection, and placing us in a position of rest.

Remember Matthew 11:28?   “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

He is saying if you are weary of the daily battles in this life and you are weighted down with responsibilities and problems, come to Him and He will give you as a gift – REST.  You don’t have to earn it, beg for it, or do something to receive it.  He simply gives this rest to you as a gift of His abundance of grace.

Look what Jesus said concerning being anxious in this life.

Matthew 6:25-33.  “For this reason I say to you, do not be anxious for your life, as to what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor for your body, as to what you shall put on.  Is not life more than food, and the body than clothing?

Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not worth much more than they?

And which of you by being anxious can add a single cubit to his life’s span?

And why are you so anxious about clothing?  Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory did not clothe himself like one of these.

But if God so arrays the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more do so for you.  O men of little faith?

Do not be anxious then, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘With what shall we clothe ourselves?’

For all of these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need these things.

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.”

 Philippians 4:6-7.  “BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

If we are not living a life in a position of REST, the question we have to ask ourselves is, “Why not?”

The scripture tells us in Hebrews 3:19 above that the reason for not being in rest is because we do not believe.  Scripture says “For WE WHO HAVE BELIEVED ENTER THAT REST, …”  If we have not entered the rest it must be because we have not believed what has been made available to us through Jesus.

When people hear the words radical and revolutionary they instantly think of some aggressive, gun toting, anarchist that has motives to overthrow an earthly government, but that was not the intentions of Jesus. The word “radical” comes from a Latin word “radix” which simply means “to cut to the root” as in “radical surgery” to remove a cancerous growth — the surgeon “cuts to the root of the cancer” to remove it. In this sense, Jesus was a radical with a radical message that was indeed meant to cut to the root of sin and remove it from our lives.

His mission and the revolution He started was the overthrow of Satan’s rule over humanity and his kingdom of darkness and to replace it with the kingdom of God. 1 John 3:8“The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

His mission was not to be accomplished with guns, swords, bombs, or any other weapons. He would accomplish His revolutionary mission by demonstrating the inconceivable and unfathomable love that God has for His human creation and the people bound up in the kingdom of darkness. He would demonstrate how much He loves us even while we hated Him. His was a revolution of love – the most powerful force in the universe.

Jesus Christ is God’s revolutionary change agent on the earth. When Jesus came to this earth over two thousand years ago He came and presented mankind with the most radical and life changing reality in history. His primary message– “Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand”.

He is the key figure in the history of the world and has had the greatest impact on the people on the earth as well as the religions and the governments of this world. He has also dealt with Satan in the spirit realm and has put a stake in the heart of his kingdom rule on this earth

The covenant kingdom is the most radical and revolutionary reality we can ever experience. When I speak of radical Christianity I am not referring to some off-the-wall hyper zealots who choose to live in a fortified compound somewhere in a very isolated area where they have no, or little, contact with the outside world. These folks have missed the whole reality of what Christianity is all about.

When I speak of true Christianity I am referring to a true “revolution in life” that was started by the greatest revolutionary of all time — Jesus Christ. This revolution in life is lived out in His covenant kingdom. The revolution that Jesus started was when He began to declare His radical message– “Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand”.

This declaration rattled the gates of hell and put fear into the heart of Satan because he could now sense his defeat and the breaking of his dominion over the lives of the human family.

When I refer to Jesus as the greatest radical revolutionary of all time I am speaking of His mission to earth and what He accomplished. This is the reason that the concepts of radical Christianity and the covenant kingdom must be explained and taught. That is what this website about the covenant kingdom of Jesus is all about.

Exalting Jesus as Lord and King over His kingdom; and uncovering God the Father’s heart desire and how it is being fulfilled.

Let me explain some definitions of these terms so we will be on the same page in our understanding of what I am saying. The following definitions are directly taken from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

Radical— radix – fundamental, extreme, cutting to the root of an issue

Revolutionary— one who constitutes and brings about rapid change

Revolution— a sudden, radical, and complete change; the over-throw or renunciation of one ruler or government and substitution of another by the governed

Concepts– thought, notion, idea; organized around a main idea or theme

Lord— from the Greek word “KURIOS” — means master, owner, possessor, maximum or supreme authority.

Seeing who Jesus really is today is a life altering experience. He is no longer the long-haired, bearded, sandal wearing, robe wearing, hippy-looking guy that walked the road of Israel 2000 years ago. He is nothing like Buddha, or Mohammed, or the founder of any of the great religions of this world. Today, we are to know Jesus as the eternal King of all creation and the Supreme power and Ruler of His universal kingdom. He is the most glorious and powerful being in the entire universe and when we meet the true King Jesus our lives become changed forever because we have encountered the life altering message of the King and His covenant kingdom.

Luke 6:46“And why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say?”

Philippians 2:9-11“Therefore God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, and at the name of Jesus every knee should bow; those who are in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of the Father.”

My entire site,, is built on the fundamental principle that God has a kingdom that encompasses the entire creation and that He has a plan and purpose for all of humanity. That purpose is established on the principle of covenant as the primary way that man can relate to a living God. My goal is to open the eyes of our understanding to the reality of the covenant kingdom of God so that we might see the truth of scripture and His promise to us of a new covenant and become a functioning part of His covenant kingdom in a covenant relationship with God and His people through Jesus. We can then actually begin to fulfill our purpose as people of destiny and reign in life as kings and priests through the gift of righteousness.

For the most part the institutional church as we know it today has missed the fundamental fact that we are in union with the living God through a blood-covenant relationship and we are to seek first and foremost His reign in our lives because JESUS CHRIST IS BOTH LORD AND KING. For the most part, followers of Jesus see Him as our Savior, but not as our Lord and King to be OBEYED.

Being in covenant with Jesus is not about performance — it’s about relationship. He is our Lord and King as well as our covenant blood-brother.

In my website I deal with many revolutionary concepts that effect the lives of all humans on this planet and if after reading about these you have any questions I have a form where you can send me your questions or comments and I will respond as quickly as possible.

When Will We Stand Up and Be Counted For King Jesus?

Where are the preachers that have the guts to stand up and shout out God’s point of view on the horrors happening in this country?

I don’t want to win a popularity contest for being mild mannered. I want to declare “Thus says King Jesus” to our culture!!

This is the Introduction of one of my books that can be purchased at

W hen we read the Book of Acts and we see what took place after the Holy Spirit was given on the Day of Pentecost the Church of today should bow our heads in shame.  On the very first day in the most hostile political and religious environment known to man at that time over three thousand people were brought into the kingdom of God.  Within a few short weeks after that thousands more were brought into God’s kingdom.  All of these people became the Church, the “ecclesia” or “called out ones”, and were assimilated into small groups, or cell congregations, all over the city and surrounding areas.  From those days forward in time in less than thirty years most of the known world had been penetrated with the “good news” that “the kingdom of God was at hand”.  The only means of transportation in those days was donkey, horse, small ships, and walking.  Yet because of their passion to obey their Lord and make Him known to the world they went everywhere with this news and everywhere they went they were used by their Lord to bring people out of the kingdom of darkness and help them to enter into the kingdom of God.  With such passion and zeal the world was being changed and Satan was fighting them every step of the way.  Thousands of these “Christians” were giving up their lives in order to be Ambassadors for Christ in a world of darkness filled with false gods, paganism, demonic religions, and religions controlled by the traditions of men.  This new Church that had been birthed on the Day of Pentecost was doing the same works that Jesus did when He was alive on this earth and this new Church was fulfilling the Great Commission that He had given them when He ascended from this earth and as a result many were being killed just like their Lord had been killed in order to silence Him.  Even with such tremendous persecution they kept persevering and were overcoming the attacks of the Devil.  The Scriptures tell us in Revelation 12:11 that “they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even to death.”   This was the Church as it was originally birthed into this fallen world and what they were accomplishing for their Lord and God.  I think it would be very reasonable to think and believe that at the pace the kingdom of God was expanding and people were being birthed into it that the entire world would have easily been evangelized within the next one hundred years, but obviously something happened and it has now been over two thousand years and the Church still has not accomplished its divine mission on the Earth.  Why?  What has happened to this powerful living organism called the Church; the Body of Christ that was filled with the life and power of the living God?

I realize that there are some great things being done by the Church around the world, but these things are small and insignificant compared to what could and should be being done for the kingdom of God.  Can you imagine what would take place around the world if every person who calls themselves a Christian were to help one person this year enter the kingdom of God?  That would mean the Church that Jesus is building would double this year.  If we, the Church, were to do that every year can you see what could be accomplished to change our world and how quickly it could be done?  It would not take more than one generation to accomplish this task and bring Jesus back to this Earth.

The question we need to ask is “Why is this not being done?”  What would happen in your town or city if every congregation where to double this year?  Would it have an impact on your community?

The Holy Spirit has given us God’s blueprint for the design of His Church and how to accomplish the mission He has given it in the Scriptures.  It has been there for hundreds of years, but Satan has deceived the Church with religion and the traditions of men and caused it to become blind and lost in the darkness of this world.  The Church has become entangled in the affairs of and the ways of the world systems.  Listen to the warnings and admonitions of the apostles:

1 John 2:15-17 – “Love not the world (the kingdom of darkness), nor the things in the world.  If anyone loves the world (the kingdom of darkness) the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world (the kingdom of darkness), the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world (kingdom of darkness).  And the world (kingdom of darkness) is passing away and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God abides forever.”

2 Timothy 2:4 —  “No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who has enlisted him.”

2 Timothy 3:1-5 – But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.  For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious, gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power; avoid such men as these.”

2 Timothy 4:3-4“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths.”

This book is about God’s blueprint.   In the pages that follow I will endeavor to uncover and show you the plan that the Father had from the beginning and that Jesus came to this Earth to unfold and begin the process of bringing it to pass.  He specifically said that He came to do the will of the Father, to set the captives free, to destroy the works of the Devil, and to establish the kingdom of God on this Earth.  He then commissioned His Church to continue on with the works that He had started.

Twenty-five years ago in the year 1989 God gave me an acrostic for the word H.A.R.V.E.S.T. that became the very framework and foundation of the ministry that Jesus assigned me to proclaim.  I firmly believe this acrostic for HARVEST explains in detail the plan of God’s heart for His Church to reach the entire world for Him and retake dominion over the Earth as we work together to expand His kingdom reign.  After all, when Jesus gave us a model for how to pray it told us to pray this into existence on this Earth:

Matthew 6:9-10 —-

“Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done,

on Earth as it is in heaven.”

That prayer, friends, is our divine mission and the pages that follow will explain how to bring it to pass so that the Father may be glorified and the Lord Jesus may be exalted as the King of kings and the Lord of lords on this Earth just as He is in heaven.  Let us begin!

This picture is a picture of what the Church of Jesus should be.  A warrior Bride and soon to be Queen.

EPHESIANS 3:16-19 & 20 — “that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man; so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge ,that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.”

“Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,

I want you to notice what he asked. He didn’t say, “I ask that you might have nice meetings.” No, he asked that our inner man be strengthened, and that Christ may dwell in our hearts by faith.

Where does Christ live?

He is in our heart, by faith. That is what it means to be in the kingdom of God. Jesus is the King, and He comes to live within us by His Holy Spirit. We are joined to Him in spirit so that He rules our hearts. We are to be subject to His government in our lives and He is our Lord and King. This is the kingdom of God

Paul went on to say, “That you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” To be filled is to have Him inside you; just as the water in a full glass is inside the glass, not on the outside.

Then he said, “Now unto Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”

Where does this power work? It works in us.

Paul’s message was very simple. It was very down-to-earth, and applied to everyday life. In our theologies and teachings we become too idealistic and try to scale the peaks of high mountains. But Paul starts where we are, with the little things of life.

His gospel was really good news because it concerned how to live. It was about living today, and tomorrow — the ordinary, everyday life that each of us must lead. He summed it up in one clear statement: “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” This is what the new covenant is all about.

Essentially, the difference between the old covenant and the new covenant is that the old covenant worked outside of people, whereas the new covenant works within.

With the old covenant they had to read it in a book and try to do it.

But the new covenant is “I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts, and will be their God, and they shall be My people” JEREMIAH 31:33. The laws God wants us to live by are internalized like a built-in guidance system. NOTE: When I speak of His laws within I am not referring to “The Law“, I am referring to His inward commands that He gives us in our daily live.

Ezekiel expressed it this way: “A new heart also I will give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a new heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall keep My ordinances, and do them” EZEKIEL 36:26-27.

We don’t have to try to do the new covenant; God, by His grace, causes us to do from within. It is an internal urge like listening to your intuition or conscience. The Spirit is in us, in the new heart, and impels us to walk in God’s way.

Jesus expressed it very clearly to His disciples. The Spirit “dwells with you,” He told them, “and shall be in you.” In You! From Pentecost on, the spirit is within.

In the Old Testament, they spoke more usually of “anointing” rather than filling. This was because the Spirit moved upon people from outside to accomplish His purposes. He only visited people. So with the old covenant, the term was anointing.

Now in the new covenant it is not a visit. He comes with all of His luggage, to stay, to abide. So in the new covenant we speak of “filling” more than anointing. He is inside of us.

“If any man thirst, let Him come to Me, and drink. He who believes on Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water.” JOHN 7:37-39

Where does this Spirit of living water come from? Not from outside, but from within the believer! He is in us. This is the new covenant — Christ in us, the hope of glory.

We don’t need to study to learn how to seek the Lord. We don’t have to try to pull Him down from heaven to come and anoint us. We don’t have to pray Him down from the ceiling to come into our meetings. He has already come to dwell within us through the Holy Spirit, and He seeks to flow out through us. We need to learn how to release what we already have within us.

This is a completely different approach from the attitude many of us have had. We have been trying to seek God, trying to get fresh outpourings of the Spirit from up in heaven. But the Bible presents Christ in us not as a goal to be attained, but a fact to be realized.

When we continue to think of Christ as being outside of us and needing to come and fill us, we are denying what the Bible says. We are making the Bible into a lie, because the fact of Christ being us by the Holy Spirit is the greatest and clearest promise of the Scriptures.

We pray, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” His kingdom comes to our hearts. He enters into us and becomes one with us so that He can rule our lives from our command center – the new heart.

Where is this risen Lord?

Perhaps you think of Him as beyond the clouds, or beyond the stars in a place called heaven. But according to Scripture, where is He? Here, within us. He has come by His Spirit to make His abode with us, to take us residence in us, to eat and drink with us. He shares our everyday, ordinary lives with us — all of the things that we do throughout the day and night.

People think that to live a spiritual life is to live a life that is not normal. They think it is to go to meetings in the church building, or to spend a great deal of time locked away in a room studying the Bible or on their knees. To be spiritual is thought of as being something different from ordinary life.

No, to be spiritual is to live the whole time with Jesus. It is to be in union with Him — to be one with Him — and to let Him guide you in all the things that you do. So you live a normal life, but it is all under the control of King Jesus. That is what it is to live in the kingdom of God — to live a full, whole physical life under the internal direction of the King. This is accomplished by praying without ceasing, or simply talking to Him as a friend throughout your day.

This is what Paul was referring to when he prayed that we might “be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith…that you might be filled with the fullness of God…according to the power that works within.”

Christianity is not an external matter, like religion. It is an “IN” thing and it works by faith. We believe that He is within us. We don’t have to depend on outer feelings because we know for a fact that Christ is within us.

Let’s leave the land of spiritual make-believe !

It’s time we church goers leave the land of the spiritual make-believe!  We are either walking in the divine authority or not.  We are eithere dominating the darkness or the darkness is dominating us.  We are either winning the battles or losing.  We can’t fool God.  We can’t fool the devil.  Why continue to fool ourselves?

The ONLY way to have the power and authority of God in our lives is to repent from our wicked ways by sincerely asking the Holy Spirit to reveal to us what’s in our hearts and what secret sins we are hiding.  Ask the Lord to forgive us and cleanse us from our unrighteousness and be forgiven.  Then submit to His Lordship by being obedient to His leading and separating yourself from the darkness of the world.  As long as we are cuddled up next to the darkness of the world we can never experience the reality of what Jesus has promise His covenant partners.  We were told to come to Him and die to our old lives in the kingdom of darkness.  Have you really died, or are you still trying to cling to some of your old habits, wicked imaginations, and ungodly desires that you have carried over into your new life as a church-goer?

Ask God to show you.

Something to Think About

If I firmly believed, as millions say they do, that the knowledge and practice of Christianity in this life influences destiny in another, then Christianity would mean to me everything.  I would cast away earthly enjoyments as dross, earthly cares as folly, and earthly thoughts and feelings as vanity.  The kingdom of God would be my first waking thought, and my last image before sleep sank me into unconsciousness.  I would labor in its cause alone.  I would set my thoughts upon eternity alone and seek diligently for theose things above.  I would consider one person converted from being lost in darkness to a true disciple of Jesus worth a life of suffering.  Earthly consequences would never stay my hand or cause my lips to be sealed.  The earthly life with all its joys and sorrows would occupy very limited moments in my thoughts as I sought to seek first His kingdom in my life.  I would strive to look upon eternity alone and upon the immortal souls around me soon to be everlastingly happy or everlastingly miserable.  I would go forth to the world around me and declare to it in season and out of season the great truth aasked by Jesus Himself.  The text would be, “WHAT SHALL IT PROFIT A MAN IF HE GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD AND LOSE HIS OWN SOUL?

“Some wish to live within the sound of Church or Chapel bell; I want to run a Rescue Shop within a yard of hell.”—C. T. Studd

Think about it.  How does our life compare?
