Jesus told us in Matthew 6:33 “but seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to You”.  What did He mean when He told us to “seek first His kingdom” if we are already in His kingdom when we become born again?  I believe the answer is so simple we miss its simplicity.  His kingdom is not a place to seek; it is a condition of asking for His will to be revealed to us and then being obedient to it as a servant doing the bidding of his King.  When we obey King Jesus we are submitting to His will and are thereby functioning in His kingdom under His divine reign.  It is the servant’s job to obey his Master and it then becomes the Master’s job to meet all the needs of His servant.  Therefore, when we do the will of God we don’t have to seek after the things the world seeks after because our Master will supply us with everything we need to live in His kingdom.  He simply adds them to us as we walk in His will.
