What is Seeking First His Kingdom from Matthew 6:33?

Jesus told us in Matthew 6:33 “but seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to You”.  What did He mean when He told us to “seek first His kingdom” if we are already in His kingdom when we become born again?  I believe the answer is so simple we miss its simplicity.  His kingdom is not a place to seek; it is a condition of asking for His will to be revealed to us and then being obedient to it as a servant doing the bidding of his King.  When we obey King Jesus we are submitting to His will and are thereby functioning in His kingdom under His divine reign.  It is the servant’s job to obey his Master and it then becomes the Master’s job to meet all the needs of His servant.  Therefore, when we do the will of God we don’t have to seek after the things the world seeks after because our Master will supply us with everything we need to live in His kingdom.  He simply adds them to us as we walk in His will.

GOD’S BLUEPRINT FOR CHURCH GROWTH

My newest e-book entitled “GOD’S BLUEPRINT FOR CHURCH GROWTH” has just been added to my Amazon Author’s Page at the following link:  http://www.amazon.com/Rob-Board/e/B00SI6BKBG.

The Holy Spirit has given us God’s blueprint for the design of His Church and how to accomplish the mission He has given it in the Scriptures.  It has been there for hundreds of years, but Satan has deceived the Church with religion and the traditions of men and caused it to become blind and lost in the darkness of this world.  The Church has become entangled in the affairs of and the ways of the world systems.  Listen to the warnings and admonitions of the apostles:

1 John 2:15-17 – “Love not the world (the kingdom of darkness), nor the things in the world.  If anyone loves the world (the kingdom of darkness) the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world (the kingdom of darkness), the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world (kingdom of darkness).  And the world (kingdom of darkness) is passing away and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God abides forever.”

2 Timothy 2:4 —  “No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who has enlisted him.”

2 Timothy 3:1-5 – But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.  For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious, gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power; avoid such men as these.”

2 Timothy 4:3-4“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths.”

This book is about God’s blueprint.   In the book I endeavor to uncover and show you the plan that the Father had from the beginning and that Jesus came to this Earth to unfold and begin the process of bringing it to pass.  He specifically said that He came to do the will of the Father, to set the captives free, to destroy the works of the Devil, and to establish the kingdom of God on this Earth.  He then commissioned His Church to continue on with the works that He had started.

Twenty-five years ago in the year 1989 God gave me an acrostic for the word H.A.R.V.E.S.T. that became the very framework and foundation of the ministry that Jesus assigned me to proclaim.  I firmly believe this acrostic for HARVEST explains in detail the plan of God’s heart for His Church to reach the entire world for Him and retake dominion over the Earth as we work together to expand His kingdom reign.  After all, when Jesus gave us a model for how to pray it told us to pray this into existence on this Earth:

Matthew 6:9-10

“Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done,

on Earth as it is in heaven.”

That prayer, friends, is our divine mission and the pages of this short e-book will explain how to bring it to pass so that the Father may be glorified and the Lord Jesus may be exalted as the King of kings and the Lord of lords on this Earth just as He is in heaven.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR SIGNIFICANCE?

One of the biggest problems you can have as a Christian is the battle in your mind over significance.

When Adam was first created he received his significance simply in his relationship with God.  When he ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and “his eyes where opened” things changed.  He lost that intimate relationship with God and had entered into the domain of Satan – the kingdom of darkness.

Bring it up to today –  we were all born into and lived in and were programed by the kingdom of darkness.  You sought your significance by focusing on yourself – what you did, how much money you had, what your job was, how you looked, etc.  This was life in the kingdom of darkness.  Then one day, you met Jesus, were born again, and entered his kingdom – the kingdom of God.  Your life began to change as your eyes became open to the kingdom of God – John 3:3.  You started doing “Christian things” instead of “worldly things”, but in most cases your perception of your significance did not change.  You still received your significance the same way you did in the kingdom of darkness.  By what you do, what you have, where you live, what kind of car you drive, what your job is, how much money you earn, what you look like, etc.  Even pastors can be guilty of this in that they may get their significance from being “a pastor” rather than simply in their union with God.

But your Father in heaven wants you to get your significance from your union with Him, not the way the world (kingdom of darkness) gets theirs.  Think about it.  Where do you HONESTLY get your significance from??
