YOU AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
I believe one of the greatest tragedies of the Christian experience is that the modern-day Christian relies more on other human beings to teach them than we do the Holy Spirit.
We rely more on what we are taught through sermons, books, or teaching we receive through TV or other forms of audio media than we do on the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
He is the greatest gift that God could ever give to a human being and you need to diligently pursue developing your friendship and relationship with Him. After all, He is the spiritual life force that was in Jesus while Jesus was physically on this earth.
God never promised to give us a new book of instructions, or a new physical person to replace Jesus when Jesus was taken to heaven. Jesus promised to send us the Holy Spirit to live IN us to be our TEACHER. John 14:16,17, & 26. That, my friends, is the new covenant promise of God.
I am not saying that you should not listen to Bible teachers, but they are not the ones who actually wrote the Book.
The Holy Spirit is the Divine Enabler who enables us to live the life of a new creation in the Covenant Kingdom of the Lord Jesus.

Your so right all I know once you have truly encountered him you know there is nothing like it
Pastor Rob you bring much hope. I bless the day I googled “Kingdom of God” and it brought me to your website which then led me to your blog and YouTube channel and to buying your books. Can’t recall ever disagreeing with your thinking. But when I read this entry the thought that followed was “why does he makes it sound so easy”. Yes the Holy Spirit is our teacher and yes I believe the Scriptures particularly Romans 8:11 which says the same Spirit which raised Jesus from the dead actually and really and truly dwells in me. If ever there was a mind bending statement that would be it. But it’s true. And yet this student has such a warm time hearing this Teacher. I’ve never had a teacher with such proximity or availability or according to the Word so willing and yet……
I crave His friendship and Presence but just as much if not more I need His teaching. The Word says above all get UNDERSTANDING. Going to a human teacher I hear them. It’s that simple. Are they always right? No. Are they sometimes right? Yes. It’s a hit and miss but I hear. Sometimes I hear and there’s nothing in the world like it. Very special just as Andrea posted in the comment above. Makes me wanna cry just to recall but it’s so rare. And there are times when you think or suspect it is He but you’re not sure so you waffle in confusion. But most times you hear nothing. The most damaging part to all of this is since I know fellowship is His intent and promise when I find that to be so rare there is that reliable pest that whispers in your ear “dont you get it? If others can and you can’t, you are just not worthy of him” I know better in my head but something about it lodges in my heart. Pastor Rob that’s my thinking. Saddest part is I know I am not alone. Any thoughts?
And don’t say “pray about it”. 🙂 Jus kidding

Thank you for your post and your comments. I know there are many in the same situation as you struggling to enjoy the fellowship with the Holy Spirit and learn how to walk in the Spirit. The real secret to being in fellowship with Him is the word BELIEVE. The ONLY way to receive something from God is through BELIEVING what His word says, what He says to you by His Spirit in that still small voice within you. I would never tell you to “just pray about it” because that wouldn’t help if you can’t hear Him speaking to you on the inside. Most of the time He will speak by an intuitive knowing in your thoughts that will never contradict what He has already spoken in His Word.
