The Covenant Life Blog – A Blog About Living With Jesus Today

The Bible is a precious and wonderful gift from God to His children, but it was never intended to take the place of Jesus or the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer or follower of Jesus.  The Bible was meant to be a tool used by our Tutor, the Holy Spirit, to lead us into a life in Jesus.  The Law of the Old Covenant was based upon following the written laws of Scripture.  That was called the Letter of the Law, or following written commandments.  The New Covenant is based on the Holy Spirit as a gift of God sent by Jesus to live within us and lead us from within.  He has written His commands within us through His Holy Spirit.  Trying to obey written commands in a Book is living by the Letter and obeying the leading of the Holy Spirit from within is called walking by the Spirit.
